      Anežka Jabůrková (c) Kristýna Jordánová

      The main focus of Vienna based art historian and curator Anežka Jabůrková lies in the field of contemporary art practice, particularly in critical art that draws attention to complex concepts of our current existence. An essential component of her projects is art mediation. She has curated numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Exile Gallery, hoast artist run space, and the Czech Center Vienna, whose gallery she directed for several years. As part of her work there, she conceptualized and realized projects for the entire network of Czech Centers.

      Anežka Jabůrková was enagaged as curator of the continuously growing cultural festival “Vienna Meets Prague” for the first three years of its existence, where she been focusing on the exchange between Austrian and Czech art scenes.

      In 2022, she was invited to co-curate a feature-exhibition for the Wienwoche Festival. Leveraging her experience and expertise, she supports artists in realizing their projects in Austria and the Czech Republic. In recent years, she has assisted Kateřina Šedá in her projects for the Wiener Festwochen, KÖR Wien, and in Hainfeld. Due to her high level of academic and linguistic competence, she is engaged as a consultant, interpreter, and translator, such as during the “Manush heißt Mensch” exhibition at the Kunsthalle Wien. In 2021, she was selected through the open call for emerging curators by the Wien Museum Musa to curate a thematic exhibition at the MUSA Start Gallery in 2024.

      In 2022 she became a parent to Anouk.
